The Signing Ceremony of MoA on academic and research collaboration between Faculty of Agriculture UST and Faculty of Agriculture and Aquaculture of Soc Trang Vocational College (SVC) was held on July 28, 2017 in Soc Trang Province, Vietnam. The ceremony was attended by the Vice Rector IV along with the Dean of Faculty of Agriculture and the delegations of UST and the Rector of SVC with other lecturers and administrators.
The rector of SVC extended his welcome to the Vice Rector IV of UST and her delegations in his speech and made a brief introduction about the history and development of SVC. After the welcome speech from the Rector of SVC, the Vice Rector IV of UST introduced the history and features of UST in her speech. She also reviewed her visit to Vietnam in 2016 when UST and SVC had fruitful discussion and reached consensus in human resources development, academic materials exchange and research collaboration that resulted in a signing of MoU between UST and SVC. As a follow up action for the MoU, she expressed her wish to extend the collaboration more specifically, in this case between the Faculty of Agriculture UST and Faculty of Agriculture and Aquaculture SVC.
The Dean of Faculty of Agriculture and Aquaculture SVC expressed her appreciation to the delegation of Faculty of Agriculture UST visit and put forward the proposals of academic and research collaboration between both faculties. The Dean of Faculty of Agriculture UST explained the development scopes of Faculty of Agriculture UST and extended her expectation for the collaboration. She said that two faculties should seek a common scope for collaboration and share teaching experience as well as knowledge of research. The Faculty of Agriculture UST would emphasize the collaboration with Faculty of Agriculture and Aquaculture SVC in human research development and joint research in the scope of horticulture and post harvest handling (food processing).
Finally, the Dean of Faculty of Agriculture UST and the Dean of Faculty of Agriculture and Aquaculture SVC signed the MoA of academic and research collaboration between both faculties in the witness other attendees of the ceremony.
